Professor Mark Tagoe
CONSULTANT PODIATRIC SURGEON

Prof Mark Tagoe was appointed as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon at West Middlesex University Hospital and leads one of the most progressive NHS Departments specialising in foot and ankle surgery. In recognition of his commitment and contribution to education, Mark Tagoe was appointed Honorary Visiting Professor to the University of Southampton. He is an international lecturer on foot and ankle pathology and innovative surgery with over 30 publications in peer reviewed journals and several book chapters.  Prof Mark Tagoe also holds an Honorary post as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary and is a Visiting Consultant Podiatric Surgeon at the Dubai Hospital. In Dubai he has helped develop a unit specialising in limb salvage surgery for the “at risk diabetic foot”.

Past appointments include Vice Chairman of the Specialist Advisory Board (Podiatric Surgery) Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, Dean of the Faculty of Surgery of the College of Podiatrists, Regional Chair of the Southern Deanery, External Clinical Faculty Instructor to the podiatric surgical training programme, Kern Hospital USA and Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster.

Dr Martin Watson
CONSULTANT MUSCULOSKELETAL RADIOLOGIST
Dr Martin Watson qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1987. After a series of surgical and orthopaedic posts in the UK and Australia he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1993. He underwent his postgraduate training in Radiology at St Mary’s Hospital, London and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in 1998. Since 2000 he has been Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at the West Middlesex University Hospital, Isleworth. He also has a practice based at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in St John’s Wood. He is experienced all aspects of Musculoskeletal Imaging but has a particular interest in MRI and Ultrasound of the foot and Ankle.
Dr Deepak Nathwani
CONSULTANT ANAESTHETIST
Dr Deepak Nathwani is a Consultant Anaesthetist at West Middlesex University Hospital. He qualified from the University of Dundee Medical School, after initial anaesthetic training within Charring Cross Hospital rotation. He was a Registrar and Senior Registrar within the within the Royal Free/ University College Hospital rotation, including training and the Royal Brompton, Queen Square Neurosurgical Unit accrediting as a specialist in both anaesthetics and intensive care. His chief areas of interest are adult and paediatric anaesthesia having accredited in both. He is also responsible for Intensive Care cover at West Middlesex Hospital. His area of expertise is in dealing with the "difficult airway" , paediatric anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia particularly for upper limb procedures and sedation techniques for various operations. Dr Nathwani is the named Educational Supervisor for anaesthetic trainees within the department. He has admitting/practising privileges at various London private hospitals including the Harley Street Clinic, Wellington Hospital, Hospital of St Johns and St Elizabeths, BUPA Cromwell Hospital, Clementine Churchill Hospital, Bishopswood Hospital and Spire Bushy.
Dr Maxine B Hogarth
CONSULTANT RHEUMATOLOGIST
Dr. Maxine Hogarth is Consultant Rheumatologist to Ealing Hospital NHS Trust and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine. She is a Specialist in managing muscle and joint pain and has a clinical interest in a number of conditions associated with this, including inflammatory arthritis and spinal pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, and joint and soft tissue problems such as tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis.
Ms Anne Marie O'Connor
SPECIALIST IN SPORTS BIOMECHANICS
Ms O'Connor provides podiatric care and gait analysis to many elite British and European athletes and sports teams, as well as recreationally active and inactive men and women. She has a special interest in football and rugby related foot injuries, working closely with sponsors to modify or design a player’s boots specifically to meet his/her podiatric and performance needs. Miss O'Connor also provides boot specific orthotics to help with their injury profile. Ms O'Connor uses video technology and pressure testing to analyse sports specific movement patterns along with running and walking assessments. She also recommends the most suitable sporting and daily footwear specific to a person’s particular needs and prescribes high quality custom orthotics, designed to fit into appropriate footwear, to alleviate symptoms. Recent and current appointments Working with six Premier League football clubs, as well as Championship and League 1 and 2 clubs Working with five Premier League rugby clubs, including England Rugby and England Rugby 7’s Podiatric care at Wimbledon Tennis 2014 Podiatrist for London Olympics 2012 Publications, lectures and teaching Ms O'Connor currently lectures on lower limb biomechanics and gait analysis on the Sports and Orthopaedic Medicine MSc course at the Royal London Hospital and is regularly invited to speak at European conferences.
Etienne Van Niekerk
PODIATRIST
Etienne Van Niekerk BSc (Hons) Podiatric Medicine MChS Etienne has more than 15 years experience working with feet. He started his career in the running shoe industry where he worked with some of the big brands. He completed his degree in Podiatric Medicien at the London Centre for Podatric Education. Since qualifying he continues to work in the NHS ( Teddington Hospital ) and Private Practice. He has a particular clinical interest in the treatment of high risk diabetes foot. Etienne is qualified to prescribe certain prescription only medicine and is licensed to administer local anaeshetic. He is registered with the Health Professions Council and is a member of the society of Chiropody and Podiatrists.
